Part 3 - Georgia and Armenia

World Cycle Tour Part 3 - Georgia and Armenia

On the 12th June we arrived in Georgia and on the 14th June we crossed the border to Armenia. We then cycled to Gymri. From Gymri we took a charming train to Yerevan. We were impressed the modern center of Yerevan. The World Football tournament had just begun so we enjoyed spending time watching football with agreat family atmosphere in Swan Lake. Then it was time to see what Amenia is most famous for - spectacular mountains.  We cycled from Yerevan to the Southern border in eight days. It was quite challenging but very rewarding with amazing mountain scenary. We had four major climbs and three were over 2000m.

We really enjoyed Armenia and were pleased we cycled this route to Iran. Spectacular mountains, good food, friendly people and nice attractions made this a great country to visit. It was also a good place to enjoy wild camping.
